This recipe could help women to rebalance their hormones as well, specially those ones who deal with PMS symptoms, by eating carrots and beets five days before the start of their period.

Moreover, this salad is very simple to make. You can serve it with a piece of protein like chicken, fish or lamb.

HOW TO MAKE DETOXING BEET CARROT SALAD

All what you need to make this delicious salad is a big bowl to mix the ingredients that are very easy to find and/or surely you have available in your fridge.

Be sure the carrots are as fresh as the beets, so you can get all the good nutrients from them!

Our two super star veggies are paired with fresh flat-leave parsley, crunchy walnuts and sweet/tangy orange apple cider vinegar olive oil dressing. Mix it all up and serve!

Ingredients
  

Salad

  • 2 cups shredded peeled beets
  • 2 cups shredded peeled carrots
  • 1 cup chopped raw walnuts
  • ¼ cup red onions
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley

Dressing

  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 freshly grated peel of half orange
  • ½ of one freshly orange (juice)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • To make the salad, combine all of the salad ingredients in a large bowl.
  • to make the dressing, place all the ingredients in a jar. Seal the lid and shake until well combined.
  • Pour the dressing over the salad and toss until well coated.
  • Serve at room temperature or chilled.

Notes

*Keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
*You can omit the walnuts and replace the cumin for any other spice of your preference.
